Beijing International Book Fair 2025

Fair

Beijing is China's biggest book fair and one of the most important in Asia. China is one of the largest book markets in the world, and is also the most important for German publishers when it comes to rights sales.

In 2024, the BIBF celebrated its 30th anniversary. According to official figures, 1,600 exhibitors from 71 countries and regions took part in the fair, 220,000 Chinese and foreign books were presented and more than 1,000 cultural events were organised. Nearly 300,000 people/visitors attended the fair.

The exhibition area is 55,000 square metres and is divided into sections for national publishers, international publishers and digital publishing, with Saudi Arabia as the guest of honour. More than 20 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, set up more than 20 national booths in the BIBF overseas zone, and 29 top international publishers such as Springer Nature, Penguin Random House and Wiley participated in the exhibition. Compared to the year before, there are 15 new exhibitor countries this year, including Bangladesh, the Philippines, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, New Zealand and Nigeria. Japan, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Italy and other countries have significantly increased their stands.

Application forms will be available on this website 5 to 6 months before the fair. Exhibitors participating for the first time in a collective stand sponsored by the BMWK are strongly advised to register on this website (German Pavilion - Online-Anmeldung)in good time. Please allow 2-3 working days for this process, as you will need to complete a one-off registration (e.g. with an extract from the Commercial Register) before registering as an exhibitor.
