Zoe Yeh and Andreas Ullrich will present examples from their curatorial and publishing practice of artistic contributions from Europe and Asia, and talk about the different conditions of realisation and reception. Zoe Yeh is the director of the Honggah Museum in Taipei and realises various projects in the field of media art and the psychogeographic exploration of urban space. Andreas Ullrich curates video art projects in public space, most recently in collaboration with MOCA Taipei, and has been producing publications on graphic interventions in public space for many years, including on sticker and poster art (International Neighbourhood Verlag Leipzig), a selection of which will also be shown at the Taipei Book Fair.
Artistic strategies in the public space
Away from museums and galleries, art in public space is particularly dedicated to strategies of direct exploration and interaction with realities of life, using the common (urban) space as a field of experimentation for artistic communication. From planned and sanctioned sculpture exhibitions, video screenings, 'art in architecture' projects and performance events to illegal graffiti, sticker and poster interventions, a wide range of contemporary art practices have been taking place since the beginning of the 20th century.
