Mateusz Pakuła and Lukas Bärfuss are both authors and playwrights. In an award-winning text that he himself adapted—one that sparked intense debate in Poland, where euthanasia is illegal—Pakuła advocates for the right to die with dignity. Lukas Bärfuss, on the other hand, distances himself from pathos to celebrate his unknown and absent father in a text that takes the form of a reflection on the notion of inheritance. Underlying both works are tributes to lost fathers, where love is deeply present.
