For this discussion, we have invited two experts: LAN Chien-Hung, a professor at Taitung University who specialises in children's literature, and KENG Yi-Wei, a playwright and lecturer in the Department of Theatre Studies at Taipei University of the Arts. They will talk about the recently published book 'Zukunft mitgestalten: Contemporary Theatre for Young Audiences in Germany' and discuss new trends in literature and theatre for children and young people. Anyone interested in these topics is cordially invited to attend!
Shaping the future
Contemporary theatre for young audiences
Contemporary psychological, anthropological and philosophical research on children and young people has changed considerably in recent decades. Children and young people are no longer seen as immature adults, but as creative subjects with their own rightful place in society. This new perspective has also influenced children's and young people's literature and theatre. Many works no longer ignore dark themes, so that children and young people can see the reality of their own lives in the works and understand that these life situations can be changed.
