After completing her training in the banking sector, Nicole Witt studied Romance and German Philology in Münster (Germany) and Seville (Spain) and travelled for some months in Central America. She completed several work experiences in the educational area and in publishing, and worked with the founder of the Mertin agency for eight years. When Ray-Güde Mertin passed away in 2007, Nicole took over the management of the agency. For some time now, the agency has also been representing some authors from other languages. The agency represents authors both in their home countries and internationally and participates in the most important international book fairs and literary festivals. In 2015, Nicole was awarded the title of Best Literary Agent of the Year by the London Book Fair and the UK Publishers Association.
