Katrin Jacobsen, born in Munich in 1965. Since 2017 head of the production departement of the 6-person production at Kiepenheuer & Witsch in Cologne. The publishing house is a traditional company with 80 employees and publishes around 180 annual publications and e-books in the segment of fiction and popular non-fiction. The publishing house is part of the fourth largest media company in Germany, the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, which is particularly concerned with environmental and climate protection.
After the apprenticeship as a publishing house clerk in Munich at Markt & Technik she worked for several years at Schirmer & Mosel and Schneekluth Verlag in Munich before moving to Frankfurt am Main to join the production department of S.Fischer Verlag. In 2001, she took over as head of production at Umschau Buchverlag and from 2005 to 2012 as head of Büchergilde Gutenberg. At the beginning of 2013, she moved to Berlin, where she headed the production departments of Aufbau Verlag, Blumenbar, and Andere Bibliothek, until she received an offer from Kiepenheuer & Witsch to move to Cologne in the summer of 2017, where she has been in charge of many successful titles.
