»Parodos Verlag« was founded in 2005 by Ulf Heuner. »Parodos« is the ancient Greek name for the side entrance in classical theater, which the choir uses to enter the stage. The aim of the publishing house is to offer a forum for philosophical thinkers. Initially the publishing house's programme consisted exclusively of specialist philosophical literature, later essays and other non-fiction genres were added. A particular focus of the publishing house is the interdisciplinary collaboration of philosophers, psychiatrists and psychologists.
