Zuzana Jürgens studied from 1994-2000 at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. In 2008 she received her PhD there with a thesis on the literary critic and editor Bedřich Fučík (1900-1984). From 2001 to 2022 she lectured on Czech literature at the University of Konstanz, Berlin and Munich. From 2009-2014 she was the director of the Czech Centre in Munich (from 2011-2013 also the Czech Centre in Düsseldorf). Since 2019 she has been the director of the Adalbert Stifter Association in Munich. She is also a translator and an interpreter.
