Wydawnictwo Pauza is a boutique publishing house founded in 2018, specializing in foreign, contemporary, award-winning literary fiction. Pauza’s authors come from all over the world, they include Lauren Groff, Ottessa Moshfegh, Edouard Louis, Miranda July, Kevin Barry, Valeria Luiselli, Emma Cline, Domenico Starnone, Samanta Schweblin, Amanda Svensson, and Sigrid Nunez.
The publishing house was created and is run by Anita Musioł, who worked for a few of the biggest publishing houses in Poland for over 20 years before she decided to strike out on her own. Anita works with a team of freelancers, who translate and edit the books, prepare the typesetting, and cover designs.
2021 saw the launch of Pauza’s first audiobook titles, as well as a nonfiction series. The last Thursday of every month, Pauza’s readers gather online for our monthly book club meetings. Many of Pauza’s authors have visited Poland over the years, with at least one Pauza author attending practically every literary festival every year.
Pauza’s mission and goal is to introduce Polish readers to contemporary writers and bring wonderful new books from all over the world to the Polish literary scene!
