Her debut novel, Un giorno verrò a lanciare sassi alla tua finestra, won the Mondello Giovani and Castiglioncello Opera Prima awards in 2010, and was a finalist for the John Fante Prize.

Subsequent works have been shortlisted for the Prix Femina and the Prix Les Inrockuptibles and won awards such as the Strega Off Prize, the Pen Translates Award, and the Mondello Prize. 

Her books have been translated into 21 languages. Her latest novel, La Nave di Teseo, will be published by Editorial Anagrama in Spain.

Durastanti is curator of the feminist publication La Tartaruga and the Italian translator of Elizabeth Hardwick, Joshua Cohen, Donna Haraway. She currently lives in Rome.
