
Françoise Wuilmart
Professor emeritus of translation and Literary translator
Françoise Wuilmart (1942) is a Germanist who graduated from ULB in 1965. She obtained her professional and scientific reputation in 1989 (= Belgian equivalent of a doctorate by royal decree).
Professor emeritus of translation (German/French) at ISTI/ULB, she founded and directs the Centre européen de traduction littéraire (CETL), and the Collège européen des traducteurs littéraires de Seneffe (CTLS). Literary translator, including of philosopher Ernst Bloch, Jean Améry and Stephan Zweig. Winner of the European Aristeion Prize and the SGDL Gérard de Nerval Prize. She is also a founding member of CEATL.
