Lucien Czuga, born in 1954 in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, started out as an editor for Euroguide International, before becoming a journalist for the Lëtzebuerger Journal, where he created a page dedicated to comic strips.
In 1987, he began writing comic strip scripts, before becoming a freelance scriptwriter in 2010. From 2013, he wrote literary reviews for RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg.
His collaboration with Roger Leiner began in 1986 with the comic strip De Pechert for Weekend magazine. They continued with political and social vignettes, Leinereien mat Czugabe, and launched the Déiere-Rubrik series. Their biggest success was Superjhemp, a satire of Luxembourg values and clichés, inspired by the French Superdupont. The series, which began in 1987, includes 26 main albums and several special editions. A film adaptation, De Superjhemp retörns, was released in 2018 and became a commercial success in Luxembourg.
In 2015, Czuga and Leiner received a special prize from the Lëtzebuerger Buchpräis for their body of work.
