Coordinator Books at Berlinale

Karla Kutzner is the founder of the agency InterKontinental. After working in Sweden and West Africa, she studied political science at the Freie Universität in Berlin. She then worked in the fields of foreign policy and development. In 2017, she founded her own company, through which she connects the fields of politics, culture, and literature.

Together with two partners, she has been running the African Book Festival Berlin and numerous literary event formats for seven years. In 2018, they founded a bookstore. Since 2021, Karla Kutzner has primarily been active at InterKontinental as an editor in the eponymous publishing house. She also hosts readings on German and international literature. Since 2023, she has additionally coordinated Books at Berlinale, bringing together producers, film rights agents, and literary agents at the first film rights market.
