Morgane Batoz-Herges has been working for over fifteen years to strengthen and promote the cultural and creative industries in Slovakia, Austria, France, and Belgium. In her current role as the European Development Manager at the Maison européenne des Auteurs et des Autrices (MEDAA) in Brussels, she leads international projects that provide concrete support to authors, enhance the visibility and fundamental role of creative work with policymakers, and foster closer collaboration within the creative value chains.
Previously, for PILEn and Bela, she played a fundamental role in setting up new funding mechanisms for creators to support their work, initiated various sector studies, and steered the awareness campaign Lisez-vous le Belge? aimed at promoting the Belgian French-speaking book sector with the government, the media, and the broader public. Through various initiatives, including educational training, workshops, and cross-sectoral cooperation, she also led efforts to prepare authors and their partners for the rapid transformation of the cultural and creative industries, which is driven by digitalization, changing business models, funding structures, and other innovations.
Actively involved in the non-profit sector, she is a board member of the Brussels Book Fair and the Voix De Femmes Festival and part of the editorial committee of the feminist journal Eigensinn. With a background in history and cultural management, she recently earned a specialized master’s degree in gender studies, which was awarded a special mention by the Université des Femmes Prize.
