Flight – A Human History
A discussion with Andreas Kossert
Andreas Kossert, renowned expert on the subject of migration and expulsion in the 20th century and author of the bestseller Kalte Heimat (Cold Homeland), places the refugee movement of the early 21st century in a large historical context in his new book. Closely aligned with personal stories and told in a moving way, Kossert’s book shows the existential experiences of being uprooted – and the hostility that goes hand in hand with losing one's homeland. He also explores the reasons why it has always been so difficult for refugees and displaced persons to put down new roots in a foreign land.
