The biggest literary event of the year is attended by around 500 exhibitors and bestselling authors from Poland and around 15 international countries in 2024. For four days, almost 1,000 authors, translators, illustrators as well as publishing and cultural managers met with the public. Three stages and seven halls hosted nearly 270 meetings, in addition to more than 500 events organised in publishing pavilions.
The guest of honour 2025 is the Republic of Korea.
K-Pop, Korean cuisine, Korean cinema and taekwondo continue to enjoy immense popularity in Poland and internationally. In recent years, there has been a significant rise in interest in contemporary South Korean literature, 2024 crowned by the Nobel Prize for Literature for the South Korean author Han Kang. The upcoming edition of the Warsaw International Book Fair will be the first opportunity of its kind to meet authors from South Korea, explore contemporary South Korean literature, and learn about the country’s culture, history and customs.
